Age has not mellowed

There are some things that I have allowed to release from the death grip of anxiety and what will other people think-ness.

And then there is watching your grandkids navigate sports in a post COVID- haven’t-been-socialized-world.

One wants to play- has the athleticism to play but can’t handle the noise or his teammates. The other is a social butterfly who would rather chat and hold hands with the coach than learn the sport.

They are young- but their dad was young when he started too and I don’t remember these issues. Maybe I didn’t see them- my dad probably did- but I can’t ask him.
